Spring Sensory Bin

While Spring seems to be totally MIA here in Minnesota, I’m still trying to do my best to teach Henry that it will eventually be warm, sunny, and beautiful out again. And, with this extended winter, I need all the indoor activities I can get!

So, is time for another seasons sensory bin {find Fall here and Winter here}.

I had fun with this bright and playful bin this time around. I kept it simple and focused on imaginary play. Henry has started to really enjoying pretending with animals, so this bin is perfect for him. While I HATE the messy Easter grass, I’m willing to deal with it for a little while longer. My vacuum just might be getting a little extra use.

Our sensory bin includes:

The felt and paper bunnies and paper baskets were all purchased at a craft store. I’ve had those eggs for so long I have no clue where they are from. The flower pots were borrowed from our Montessori Inspired Cup and Ball Sorters.
So far, Henry has loved just playing with the bin! Of course he immediately dumped it out and got the grass everywhere. But, it kept him busy for a good 30 minutes — so I call that a win!

Did you make a spring inspired sensory bin? Anyone else hate that grass as much as I do?
